Despite the Asean summit being postponed to October, Phuket Film Festival, which was scheduled from June 4 to 11, will still be cancelled.
"I just sent out 1,000 press releases and 15 minutes later I learn that the government is moving its meeting," festival director Scott Rosenberg said Wednesday.
Bigname Hollywood guests had made plans to come for the fest from June 4 to 11 - Oscarwinning actor Adrian Brody, director Gus Van Sant and producer Darnell Martin.
To call them and say the festival was back on, well, Rosenberg said people would think he's "a flake".
Rosenberg said he thought about postponing the fest until August, but none of his stars would be available then.
