The new X-Slim series targets the fashion crowd with its sleek design and ultra-slim profile. It is also likely to be claimed that the X-Slim 340 has the perfect 13-inch LCD wide screen, with 16:9 theatre-screen aspect ratio providing an additional 14 per cent of visual area that is perfect for playing HD videos at any possible angle.
The slim form is only 6 millimetres at its thinnest and 20 millimetres at its thickest, giving a light weight of only 1.3 kilograms, including the battery, and that puts the X-Slim 340 on top as the world's lightest and slimmest 13-inch notebook.
The X-Slim 340 has the latest Intel ultra-low-power processor chip Core 2 Solo ULV SU3300 (1.2GHz) processor.
It also has up to 2GB of DDR2 memory, from 320GB to 500GB of hard-drive capacity, and Windows Vista.
It supports Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth and WiMAX connectivity and offers USB and HDMI ports, D-Sub Video Out, LAN access, and headphone and microphone points. It is also embedded with the IEEE WiMAX wireless module.
It also comes with the ability to host an external high-definition Blu-ray disc drive or a DVD SuperMulti drive.
The X-Slim 340 is also equipped with MSI's vivid-image enhancement technology that can enhance the richness of colours from the source of the signal so the images displayed can provide more levels and detail. This also adds to the three-dimensional effect during gaming, watching movies or viewing pictures, and even in the editing process.
It is equipped with an exclusive ECO Engine power-management system, so users can select from five different modes, including office, gaming, movies, presentation, and turbo battery.
It comes with a four-cell battery pack that provides 7 hours of working battery time.
The device is also embedded with a 1.3 megapixel webcam incorporated in the design of the notebook, giving it a slick and technological appearance.
Optional extras include in-built 3G HSDPA wireless broadband, an eight-cell battery, plus USB DVD and Blu-ray drives.
