Chanchai: newly elected Puea Paendin leader
Industry Minister Charnchai Chairungrueng was named leader of Puea Paendin party and Chaiyot Jiramathakorn the party's secretary-general Monday at a special party meeting held at the Rama Gardens Hotel Monday morning.
The Election Commission (EC) nullified the party's December 9 election, in which Pracha Prommnok was made party leader, due to incorrect voting process.
Puea Paendin MPs, who are part of Pracha's faction, did not show up, while Pracha said he had not attended because he had not received an official invitation.
MPs from Pracha's faction said they would appeal with the Administrative Court for Pracha's reinstatement as party leader.
