Political offences should not be confused with criminal offences, as those who commit crimes such as corruption and inciting riots should be brought to justice, because these acts having nothing to do with democracy, he said.

Deputy Prime Minister Sanan Kachornprasart said he did not believe completely that police or the military were involved in the attack on Sondhi, nor did he believe that it was politically motivated.
