7.15am: Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva takes part in a function celebrating the 32nd anniversary of MCOT.

9am: Presides over National Elderly Day at Muang Thong Thani.

10am: Carries out some tasks at Parliament.

11am: Arrives at the Khao Sod office to have lunch meeting with newspaper's executives.

2.25pm: Arrives at Royal Cliff Beach Resort in Pattaya to chair special meeting of the economic Cabinet.

Meeting was cancelled.

4.20pm: The prime minister's motorcade leaves Pattaya for a military camp in Chon Buri's Phanat Nikhom district.

5.50pm: A helicopter, in which Abhisit is believed to be a passenger, leaves military camp for Bangkok.

6.40pm: Helicopter arrives at First Infantry Regiment on Vibhavadi-Rangsit Road.

7.30pm: Red-shirt protesters start gathering at NBT television following news the PM is set to make a national address. Abhisit's whereabouts unknown.

9.30pm : Abhisit declares Friday a national holiday and urge people to abandon red shirts protesters.
