Local information technology outsourcing firm IT One is to expand its services into the telecom, retailing and banking industries in the next three years and expects to achieve revenue of Bt1 billion by the end of this year.
Chief executive Prayootd Tansrisuwarn said IT One planned to provide outsourcing services in three areas: SAP applications, customer-relationship management and supply-chain management. It will focus on the banking, telecom and retail industries because these businesses will be able to use technology to establish a competitive edge.
IT One is a 61:39 joint venture between Accenture and the Siam Cement Group. It currently provides integrated IT outsourcing services to more than 150 firms in Thailand and 17 countries around the world.
"We are now mainly providing IT outsourcing services to support Siam Cement Group and its 150 affiliate companies. We are proud to be a part of our clients' successes in delivering business capabilities to more than 100 projects every year," Prayootd said.
The company currently provides services in two main areas: system developments such as enterprise resource planning, and IT outsourcing, including application and infrastructure outsourcing, data centre services and security systems.
Prayootd said the company expected IT outsourcing to grow continuously, according to global trends, because businesses were bound to focus on their own expertise and outsource their IT and back office infrastructure to IT specialist companies.
IT One has about 480 employees. It generated revenue of Bt920 million in 2008, up by 15 per cent from the year before. Of this, 80 per cent came from SCG companies and 20 per cent from others. It expects that its outsourcing businesses will grow by about 10 per cent this year, enabling it to reach revenue of about Bt1 billion.
"We expect that IT will become a tool with which businesses will create opportunities, reduce their investment costs and increase their revenue. The quality of IT outsourcing services we provide, and their management, are up to international standards," Prayootd said.
