Fair to help job seekers at Siam Paragon

More than 10,000 jobs with 150 companies will be available at a job fair organised by the Employment Department of the Labour Ministry during March 20-21.

The event - taking place at Paragon Hall, Siam Paragon - comes as more companies are announcing layoffs due to the global economic crisis.

Pichai Ekpitakdamrong, director-general of the Employment Department, said IT will be used at the event to investigate job opportunities for those looking for work.

"Work-seekers can register in advance and receive an ID card to apply for jobs at the fair. Apart from the vacancies, there will be other activities including more than 30 samples of freelance work," he added.

The department is providing tests of English language proficiency for job seekers, as well as job advisory clinics.

Job seekers wanting advance registration can apply at www.doe.go.th . There will be officials at the fair to help them complete their resume forms on the computer. They should bring a personal photo for registration.

For more information, call centre no. 1694 has been set up to help job seekers going to the fair.
