Phuket sees slow budget disbursement

Only 57.61 per cent of Phuket's expenditures have been disbursed so far in the 2009 fiscal year, said the provincial treasurer Jarunee Jinanukulwong.

The province has received Bt2.5 billion budget, but only Bt1.47 billion was disbursed.

She attributed the slow disbursement of investment budget to the low bid median prices, which make government projects unattractive. Phuket has asked the central government to consider raising the median prices.
