France's Secretary of State for Human Rights Yade visits Thailand



French Secretary of State for Human Rights, Rama Yade, is make a three-day visit to Thailand tomorrow to strengthen bilateral relations between France and Thailand.

Yade is scheduled to meeting Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya to exchange views on bilateral and regional issues including the Burmese situation and other humanitarian issues. She will also meet with the Human Rights defenders.

During her stay, she will visit a centre which shelters children and women who are victims of forced labour, sexual exploitation and forced beggary. She will also go to Chiang Mai to visit a hospital specialized in the treatment of AIDS, where the French Institute for Research and Development leads a project to fight  virus transmission from mother to child. 

Finally, she will visit the Ban Mai Nai Soi camp, a Burmese refugee camp which houses nearly 20,000 Burmese refugees.
