
Piyasvasti, now chairman of advisors to CEO of Kasikornbank, is among 11 candidates applying to the positon.
Piyasvasti said, "The company now has big financial problems and we cannot allow it to collapse. We have seen many examples of foreign airlines whose problems got worse after bringing in private companies to manage them," he told Bangkokbiznews online.
"At first, I think that I am fine with my present job. However I want to work at the THAI. I realise that the work there would be tough. I am the one who loves tough jobs," he said.
