Deputy Bangkok Metropolitan Police Commissioner Pol Maj Gen Amnuay Nimmano said all 21 PAD activists will have to report between March 2-5 to hear the police charges laid against them.
Police charges to be applied against the high-profile PAD protesters include intruding into Government House which began in August and lasted until early December, an action which led directly to forcing the government of Somchai Wongsawat from power, besieged Parliament on October 7 leading to clashes between demonstrators and riot police resulting in two protester deaths, with 500 people injured, and later seizing Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports in November-December last year, he said.
Gen. Amnuay said Foreign Affairs Minister Kasit Piromya was not on the list of those charged.
Kasit was seen frequently on the PAD stages at Government House and the Makawan Bridge verbally attacking the previous government, and later visited Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport during the PAD occupation, he did not participate in the forceful intrusion into either property.
