CP All profits up on network expansion

CP All Plc saw its 2008 net profit more than double from Bt1.46 billion a year earlier to Bt3.3 billion.

Listed discount store operator Big C Supercentre Plc also showed an improvement in the 2008 financial results. Its net profit rose to Bt2.85 billion, from Bt2.5 billion a year earlier.

In the filing to the Stock Echange of Thailand,CP All attributed the better earnings to the network expansion. In 2008, the number of 7-Eleven outlets increased to 4,778 from 4,279 in the previous year. The earnings from the convenience store business reached Bt3.74 billion in the year, 49.4 per cent up from Bt2.5 billion in the previous year.

Meanwhile, it also booked fewer losses from the investment in the supermall project in China.
