Budget deficits at Bt390 bn set for 2010

The Cabinet has finalised that Thailand would run a budget deficit of Bt390 billion in the 2010 fiscal year, on the assumption that the economy would expand 3 per cent and inflation at 2 per cent.

While expenditures are estimated at Bt1.9 trillion, the revenue would be Bt1.51 trilion, said Budget Bureau director Banthoon Suphakkawanich.

Of total expenditures, 20 per cent or Bt380 billion is for investment projects, while 76.7 per cent or Bt1.458 trillion is for fixed expenses.

He said the allocation to each mininistry would be finalised early May.
