DTCI share manipulators fined for Bt5.5 mn

The Securities and Exchange Commission's penalty committee on Friday agreed to pose fines of Bt5.5 million on three individuals charged of manipulating the share price of DTC Industries Plc.

Chai Bunnag was fined Bt4.8 million, while Nattada Kaewma and Saranya Simaporn were subjected to Bt333,333 of penalties each.

The SEC earlier found that Chai, as marketing team chief of Far East Securities, controlled five trading accounts for the trading of  DTCI shares during March 1 to April 4, 2006. Chai were the supervisors of Nattada and Saranya and he also used trader IDs of both to create transactions that led to irregular increases in DTCI share prices.
