THAI extends application date for new president

 Acting President ACM Narongsak Sangapong said in a statement that through the extension, the national carrier hopes to gain a wider selection of candidates and to maximise benefits for the company.  

 He did not say how many candidates have submitted their applications.

 Former president Apinan Sumanaseni resigned in November over controversy relating to aircraft purchase.

The company is now facing severe liquidity shortage. Yesterday, it announced a cost-cutting plan which included the freeze of new employment.
