EC endorses Wannarat as new leader of Ruam Jai Thai
The Election Commission has formally acknowledged Energy Minister Wannarat Charnnukul as the new leader of Ruam Jai Chart Pattana Party, EC secretary general Suthiphon Thaveechaigarn said on Wednesday.
The process to install Wannarat as party leader has completed, Suthiphon said.
Wannarat replaced Chettha Thanajaro who quitted after refusing to vote along his party line which supported the premiership of Abhisit Vejjajiva in December. Chettha cast his vote for rival candidate Pracha Promnok.
