The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) yesterday warned people to beware of new pyramidfund schemes. Leaflethandout services and website banners are the latest scams claiming to offer investors big returns. "The rate of return they advertise is higher than anything being offered by the banks," said Colonel Piyawat Kingket of the DSI.
"Please be very cautious if you hear about an offer of very high returns in a short period of time, especially if you are asked to introduce new members too," he said.
Piyawat also gave a stern warning to anyone thinking of starting a pyramid fund. "You will be charged with public fraud and punished," he said.
