PM: Issara to be sworn in next week


Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said on Wednesday he had sought Royal approval to appoint Democrat Party's Ubon Ratchathani MP Issara Somchai as Social Development and Human Security Minsiter to replace Witoon Nambutr who resigned on Tuesday.

Abhisit said Issara was expected to swear an oath of allegiance next week.

The replacement of Issara came after Witoon quitted after being rocked by the rotten-can fish scandal. He becomes the first in the month-old government of Abhisit Vejjajiva to bow out.

Issara, a lawyer and six time Democrat MP earned a master degree from National Institute of Development Administration
