Santi faces NACC probes

The National Anti-Corruption Commission has established a sub-committee to launch an inquiry into former Transport Minister Santi Prompat over the alleged lack of transparency over the Purple Line bidding, said a source from the agency.

Phakdee Phosiri will chair the sub-committee.

The source said that preliminary information showed that under his reign, the ministry raised the construction cost of the urban train project from Bt31 billion to Bt36 billion after selling the bidding document. Moreover, some bidding conditions were amended allegedly to benefit contractors.
