THe NATION - World Junior No 1 Noppawan Lertcheewakarn stormed into the second round of the junior Australian Open after she crushed Brazil's Fernanda Faria 6-0 6-0 in just 31 minutes.

The top seed is chasing after her first singles Grand Slam title after she won the US Open doubles trophy last year.

"I was serving well and came up with a lot of winners. I hope I can maintain this level tomorrow,'' said the 17-year-old.

Another Thai Kanyapat Narattana also advanced following a win over Anna Brazhnikova of Sweden 6-3 6-4.
