Ex-PM Samak returns home

Ex-PM Samak returns home

Former Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej returned home last night from America after being treated for cancer.

Samak arrived Suvarnabhumi airport at 11.45pm by United Airline flight 891 from Houston where he was treated for liver cancer. He was accompanied by his wife; Khunying Surat and his daughter; Kandapa Mungtin

A group of four red shirt supporters who were loyal to ex-PM Thaksin Shinawatra as well as a large group of reporters waited for Samak at the airport.

No one from previous governments were seen at the airport.

However to avoid the waiting crowd, a van was allowed to receive Samak and family inside the airport.

Samak, who was disqualified from the premiership by the Constitution Court last year, left for the US in November to have treatment for cancer.
