NTC sets 39 spectrum plan
Board of the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) on Thursday approved the 3G spectrum plan, which set in motion the process of awarding the 3G spectrum licenses in Thailand.
The plan determines that the spectrums to be used for offering the broadband and advanced cellular services include the range between 1920 MHz to 1980 MHz and the range between 2110 MHz to 2170 MHz. The others include the spectrum of 2010 MHz and 2025 MHz.
The plan does not specify that the spectrums are only for providing the 3G mobile broadband service, given that they could be deployed to offer any kind of advanced cellular services from 3G to 4G.
