PTT plans to borrow |Bt65 bn over 5 years



PTT plans to borrow about Bt65 billion over the next five years.

The oil and gas conglomerate earlier said it would invest Bt229.34 billion in the period.

The borrowing plan - taking into account economic conditions, energy business outlook and long-term cash flow - will be submitted to shareholders for approval.--The Nation

 

TUF wins US shrimp certification

Thai Union Frozen Products' shrimp business has been granted the Aquaculture Certification Council's three-star certification from the US for meeting a stringent set of social, environment and food safety standards

The company said yesterday that its shrimp business from hatchery to farms and processing plants was covered by the three-star certification. The company is the first Thai seafood producer to win the certificate.--The Nation  

 

Taiwan to buy betel nuts from Thailand

Taiwan will import betel nuts from Thailand under a quota of 8,000 tonnes this year. To boost exports, the National Bureau of Agricultural Commodity and Food Standards has asked growers to register with the bureau by next Monday.

Montri Krissaneepaibul, deputy executive director, said yesterday that qualified exporters should have their own factory to fumigate the nuts with methyl bromide and a packing house to ensure the exports are free of plant diseases.--The Nation  

Chinese New Year Blue Flag fair

The Internal Trade Department has arranged a Chinese New Year Blue Flag fair, offering daily necessities to consumers at cheap prices.

Director-general Yangyong Phuangrach said yesterday that the event would be held tomorrow to Friday at the Commerce Ministry's head office in Nonthaburi.

Goods, including pork, seafood, vegetables, fruit, sweets and items used in making propitiatory offerings to spirits, will be available at a discount, he said. - The Nation
