More Thai hotels join the Design network

Design Hotel has received applications from 14 independent hotels and resorts in Thailand this year to join its reservation net work.

Founder and CEO Claus Sendlinger said many travellers now preferred to

stay at small and diversified property in many countries including Thailand.

Eight hotels in Thailand are joining the Design Hotel reservation network. They

are X2 Samui and Krui Buri, Metropolitan Bangkok, Alila Cha Am,

Kilimaya Golf Resort Khao Yai, The Library Samui, Villa Biege Samui and The

Chedi Phuket.

The group expected to have several more hotels this year.

The group, which brings together 175 independent, contemporary hotels

from around the world, is promoting its Design Hotels

edition 2009, a 480-page book about the network and the people at each

property.

Sendlinger is now in Asia promoting the book, starting the tour in

Singapore early this week and Thailand yesterday.

He is scheduled to visit some major cities throughout Asia, including

Hong Kong, Beijing, Tokyo and Sydney.

Founded in 1993 and based in Berlin, Design Hotels has about 30 mem

bers in Asia, including several under the Alila and Como groups, based in Singapore, and India's Park group.
