The widget graphical icons at the bottom of the TV screen enable viewers to get real-time access to Internet content.
Tim Baxter, Samsung's sales and marketing executive vice president, said Samsung planned to add Yahoo widgets to the company's expanded line-up of Internet Protocol TV-enabled devices from this year, including the new Luxia HDTV range.
He was speaking at the recent International Consumer Electric Show in Las Vegas.
Samsung and Yahoo are also working with major content providers to add their widgets on the screen to enable TV viewers to access video and other content.
Different widgets featuring a new graphical user interface designed specially for TVs will be available for download direct from the TV itself.
The Luxia range is billed as eco-friendly, with reduced use of dangerous chemicals and offering a 40-per-cent reduction in energy consumption compared to conventional LCD TVs.
