The commission decided to endorse Sukhumbhand because there were no com?plaints against him, he said.
However, a complaint was lodged against officials over bal?lot counting at the 70th polling station in Phya Thai district, not Sukhumbhand, he said.
Since there were 545 voters at the station, the compliant would not affect the outcome of the election, the EC decided.
The EC also endorsed 20 out of 29 winners of by-elections held on Sunday as new MPs, Prawing said.
The EC endorsed five new Democrat Party MPs, two new Puea Pandin Party MPs, 8 new Chart Thai Pattana Party MPs, 4 new Pracharaj Party MPs and one new Pheu Thai Party MP.
Nine other front-running candidates yet to be endorsed by the EC include two from the Democrat Party, four from Pheu Thai, two from Chart Thai Pattana and one from Puea Pandin.

The four from Pheu Thai are Suriya Promdee, from Nakhon Phanom; Kajit Chainikom from Maha Sarakham; Piyarat Muensan from Roi Et; and Somphot Saithep from Lampang.
