SET expects more stock investment



Stock Exchange of Thailand President Patareeya Benjapholchai is hopeful that the exchange would benefit from the latest policy rate cut, as it could draw more savings to the exchange.

 Yet, she noted that amid bad news in domestic and international markets, investors should be thorough in allocating their savings for stock investment.

           To woo savers to the exchange, the SET has worked with banks in raising understanding of bank employees in offering new products to their clients. Clients would be offered deposit products, bonds, and futures contracts, among others.

 The Monetary Policy Committee on Wednesday cut the policy rate by 75 basis poins to 2 per cent, following a 1 percentage point in the previous meeting.
