CONSUMER CONFIDENCE
First hike in confidence in 5 months

Thailand's consumer confidence in December rose for the first time in five months to 67.5 from 67.1 in the previous month, as the country saw an end to the seizure of Bangkok airports and the appointment of the new prime minister.
In completing the survey, the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce interviewed 2,238 respondents.
"People are more hopeful about politics after the formation of the new government," said Thanavath Phonvichai, an economist at the University. "However, they are still worried about unemployment."
