
Police have completed the report recommending the prosecution of Jakrapob on a key charge for violating Article 112 of the Criminal Code and placed the suspect under the custody of the Office of the Attorney General during the pre-trial preparations.
If found guilty, Jakrapob will face a prison term ranging from three to 15 years.
He has been accused of offending the monarchy when he made a speech at the Foreign Correspondents Club of Thailand. At the time he was an anti-coup activist.
Jakrapob Tuesday claimed that he was offered a deal to end his opposition for the Democrat-led coalition in exchange for a drop of his lese majeste charge.
"I have been contacted to stop my activities so as to elude prosecution," he said.
He refused to reveal the details about the deal though he made it clear that he had declined the offer.
He said he would fight to the full extent of the law in order to clear his name.
He was speaking after reporting to the public prosecutors to surrender himself under the prosecution custory during the pre-trial preparations.
Based on the police report, he has been accused of offending the monarchy when he made a speech in August 2007 at the Foreign Correspondents Club of Thailand.
Chief prosecutor Kaiyasit Phitsawongprakarn said the prosecution review would complete on March 5 to decide whether to try Jakrapob.
