CIG denies takeover deal

CI Group Plc (CIG) denied the rumoured takeover by a leading air-conditioning firm, saying that none of major shareholders have learnt of the move.

Aree Poomsanoa, chief executive officer and managing director, said no major shareholders have considered selling shares. The board recently approved the plan to purchase 9.94 per cent of shares worth no more than Bt75 million. The takeover is impossible, he insisted.

It also said it has secured a deal to supply parts to Carrier and expects more deals. - The Nation
