Leading organisations meet on Wed on exports

The Joint Standing Private Committee, the grouping of three business associations, as well as other associations are invited to propose their ideas how to boost Thailand's exports and combat the global crisis at the Commerce Ministry on Wednesday.

Deputy Commerce Minister Alongkorn Polabutr said yesterday that the ideas are crucial in boosting the 2009 export growth by 5 per cent, or another Bt300 billion on top of 2008 export revenue of Bt6 trillion.

The ministry and others are expected to submit their plans to the Economic Ministers Council this week.
