CAPITAL NOMURA SECURITIES posted a first-quarter (ending November 30) net profit of Bt13.2 million, down from Bt37.05 million in the same period last year.

PONGSAAP cancelled a planned increase in capital shares due to the current economic climate, causing a burden in maintaining working capital. The company is in the process of negotiating for new investors. The process is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2009.

GENERAL ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION's board approved the cancellation of Genco Engineering, a wholly owned subsidiary, to reduce expenses.

UNIVERSAL STARCH's board approved the appointment of Umnad Sukprasongphol and Thawan Petchlawlian as joint managing directors, effective January 1.

SAHA UNION's board approved the sale of its sprinkler system to Union Technology (2008) for Bt13.4 million.
