Royal Coast push and roadshows

Yesterday, Deputy Prime Minister Sanan Kachornprasart, expected to oversee the Tourism Ministry, said the government would push for the Royal Coast project, aside from roadshows to revive the tourism industry.

Tourism permanent secretary Sasithara Pichaichannarong said the ministry is deciding whether to open bidding for the cruise pier in Prachuab Khiri Khan or to have the local administrative body handle it.

On the seaport project to link Phetchaburi and U-tapao, the private sector will be invited to join the bidding.

On the yacht pier in Satun to link Thailand with Malaysia's Langkawi Island, it has been decided to hold an open bidding.

The convention centre in Phuket would be developed and managed by the private sector.
