
The promotion offers special domestic fare; for example, Bt985 for one-way economy class ticket from Bangkok to Phitsanulok, or Bt1,160 for one-way economy class ticket from Bangkok to Chiang Mai.
Pandit Chanapai, THAI's Executive Vice President for Commercial Department, said 'It's really been a rough year for our nation. Since travel is one of essential means of recreation and leisure activity, the company introduces the promotion as a life reward programme to celebrate the festive season.
" In the meantime, we hope that the special fares will spur domestic travel and encourage more traveling around Thailand. Passengers will be able to buy domestic THAI tickets from Bangkok to one of the following destinations such as Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen, Udon Thani, Krabi, Phuket, and Samui. In addition, the traveling among main cities will be included such as the trip from Chiang Mai to Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai to Phuket."
During the New Year holidays, THAI will also increase the number of flights on domestic sector to meet passengers' demand.
THAI Acting President ACM Narongsak Sangapong said the flights would be increased during Dec 26 and Jan 4. The company will increase flight frequencies and will change to larger aircraft types on flights to Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phuket and Krabi.
There will be an increment of 29 flights with an additional 12,036 seats, bringing the total seat capacity to 121,692 seats.
On the Bangkok-Chiang Mai route, flights would be increased by 6, with additional seats of 3,114. Two additional flights are offered for Chiang Rai, with additional 1,104 seats. The number of flights to Phuket will increase by 10, offering additional 5,638 seats. To Krabi, 4 more flights are on offer with additional 1,548 seats.
Passengers are requested to be at the airport 3-4 hours before departure time due to traffic congestion during holidays.
