Cooking gas transportation cost to fall

Cooking gas distributors have agreed to reduce the transportation cost of gas for household use to Bt10 per 15-kg tank, expected to take effect from January 15, said Deputy Director-General of the Internal Trade Department Watcharee Wimuktayon.

The cost was raised to Bt15 for the transportation within a 5-kg distance, when oil prices skyrocketed.

On Wednesday, the distributors were summoned for a meeting. Aside from the transportation cost, they were also instructed to help monitor the market now that the Energy Ministry plans to raise the cooking gas price for non-household use. As the gas prices for transport and industrial use would be raised Bt2 per month for 3 months, misuse is expected.
