Human Focus: Kosit is serious about SMEs

Kosit Panpiemras has shown how serious he is about helping to promote and upgrade the capability of SMEs since he served as deputy prime minister and industry minister in a recent government. Last week the executive chairman of Bangkok Bank volunteered to be the moderator for the annual SME conference held by the bank.

Kosit presided over a session at which two outstanding SME executives shared their lessons and experiences and suggestions on how to weather the 2009 economic storm.

He did an excellent job, stopping the speakers from time to time and summarising the essence of their presentations for the audience, making sure everyone would really get something out of the seminar.

But Kosit appeared slightly upset when one young speaker was not showing much respect to the moderator and complained when asked by him to stop talking.

Christmas Song

This was sent from a friend who works in finance circles.

Latest Christmas carol for 2008!!!

You'd better watch out

You'd better not cry

You'd better keep cash

I'm telling you why:

Recession is coming to town.

It's hitting you once,

It's hitting you twice

It doesn't care if you've been careful and wise

Recession is coming to town

It's worthless if you've got shares

It's worthless if you've got bonds

It's safe when you've got cash in hand

So keep cash for goodness sake, HEY

You'd better watch out

You'd better not cry

You'd better keep cash

I'm telling you why:

Recession is coming to town!

Finance products are confusing

Finance products are so vague

The banks make you bear the cost of risk

So keep out for goodness sake, OH

You'd better watch out

You'd better not cry

You'd better keep cash

I'm telling you why:

Recession is coming to town.
