'Cancel Thaksin's passports'


Former foreign minister Prasong Soonsiri yesterday demanded the government |cancel former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra's passports.

Prasong submitted a written complaint to the Foreign Ministry permanent secretary and threatened to file nonfeasance [failing to perform a duty] charges against him if he refused to revoke Thaksin's diplomatic and ordinary passports.

He said Foreign Ministry regulations prohibited granting travel documents to anyone facing criminal charges and Thaksin, who has fled overseas, has already been sentenced to two years in jail.
