Thai Summit launches electric car

Thai Summit Group's susbisidary TS Vehicle Tech (TSVT) has launched an innovative electric car under the brand of "Cario Bravo".

Rujirapun Juangroongruangkit, vice president of TSVT, said it spent Bt40 million on compiling computer-aided engineering to produce the highest quality of the energy-saving electric cars.

It has total production capacity of 1,200 units per year. It plans to sell 70 per cent of its production to golf courses in the domestic market and the remaining 30 per cent for export to China, Australia, and Malaysia.

It previously had a plan to boost its production capacity to 1,800 units per year in 2010, but this should be postponed in line with dropping demand in the market after foreign golf players were scared away by the country's political chaos.
