Food courts to lower food prices

Central Group has agreed to lower the price of fast-food meals by Bt5, starting from the Christmas festival, according to Internal Trade Department Director-General Yanyong Phuangrach.

The group's food courts now sell meals at Bt35 and Bt40.

Yanyong said that he would discuss with executives of The Mall Group on Dec 11, to convince it to lower the food court food prices, in line with continued decline in the cost of several raw materials such as meat and vegetables. He said the average food price in food courts should be brought down to Bt25 per dish.

Within next week, Yanyong would meet with manufacturers of powder milk and instant noodles.
