Don Mueang reopens on Thurs

Don Mueang Airport will fully reopen on December 4 following the inspection that found slight damage from the closure of People's Alliance for Democracy.

Airport Director Anirut Thanomkulbut said the airport would resume operations on 6am, starting with Flight TG1020 which will depart Don Mueang for Ubon Ratchathani. Thai Airways International, and Nok Air, One-Two-Go are ready to fly to and from the airport, he said.

Anirut said aviation agencies have confirmed that Don Mueang meets the safety and security standards.

Asked if AOT would sue PAD for damage, Anirut said the company would consider that option. The authorities plan to host a religious ceremony in commemoration of a protester who lost his life during the airport closure.

Nok Air CEO Patee Sarasin said that the airline has not yet discussed if it would sue PAD for compensation, as resuming services is now the priority. He said Nok Air would provide more flights to accommodate the large number of passengers.
