In his early 30s, Nattakorn hopes to become the youngest Bangkok governor in history. The gubernatorial election is scheduled on January 11.
Asked about his policies, Nattakorn said he would follow through with former Bangkok governor Apirak Kosayodhin's environmental works, as well as Skytrain and BusRapidTransit projects.
Apirak was reelected as Bangkok governor in October 5 election. However, he resigned after the National AntiCorruption Commission recommended his prosecution over firevehicle scandals, which have also implicated many other highprofile politicians including Samak Sundaravej and Bhokin Bhalakula.
Apirak's resignation prompted the Election Commission to hold a new gubernatorial election on January 11.
Meanwhile, People Power Party spokesman Anudith Nakornthap yesterday admitted that Yuranan Pamornmontri was among potential candidates, along with Prapas Chongsanguan and Kittirat na Ranong.
"If our party is dissolved, our candidate will run under the Puea Thai Party's banner," Anudith said.
The Constitution Court is expected to rule on a case against the PPP very soon.
It is widely known that the Puea Thai Party will be a new base for PPP politicians, if the court orders the PPP dissolution.
