
According to Attapol Wannakit, director of TAT Office in Nakhon Ratchasima, most flyers have been in Thailand via other routes and all equipment has been shipped to Thailand.
The festival in Pak Chong will run until December 7 where over 60 balloons from various countries - including USA, UK, Germany, France, Italy and Austria - would be exhibited. It expects to draw at least 50,000 visitors per day with combined spending of Bt500 million.
Sawat Mangkornwat, president of the province's tourism association, said hotels in the district have been fully booked during the event. Due to political conflicts, foreign travellers have cancelled 70-80 per cent of their bookings for hotel rooms in the province.
