AIRPORT CRISIS

It takes time to clear Suvarnabhumi:AOT

Airports of Thailand Acting President Serirat Prasutanond said on Monday that some protesters have left Suvarnabhumi Airport, giving a new hope that the airport could be cleared for normal operations soon.

However, though all retreat, he admitted that the airport would not reopen immediately as it will be subjected to the joint inspection by the Civil Aviation Department and airlines. The airport will reopen only all parties certify the safety.

About 240,000 tourists and travellers have been stranded following the protesters' control of Suvarnabhumi since last Tuesday.
