Two Thais held in Mumbai hotel located : Thai FM

Officials could locate two Thai nationals being held in the Oberoi hotel which was under seizure of militants in Mumbai, Thai Foreign Ministry said Friday.

 "They are safe and staying with Indian guests in the hotel," he said. He denied to give further detail for the benefit of their safety.

Of six Thai national working in the hotel, one managed to get out, three were not at the building during the time while the remaining two in the building could now be located, Foreign Ministry's spokesman Tharit Charungvat said.

The two were identified a Ms Pornthima Duangthong and Ms Thanya Yam-im.

The well-coordinated strikes by small bands of gunmen starting Wednesday night left the city shell-shocked, but the sporadic gunfire and explosions at the Taj Mahal and Oberoi hotels dwindled overnight, indicating the sieges there might be winding down.

Some 50-60 Thai people in Mumbai are safe. Most of them contact with the Thai Consulate in the city. The officials are looking for where about of the three workers of the Oberoi hotel, Tharit said.
