AIRPORT SHUTDOWN

THAI handles 2,00 stranded passengers

Thai Airways International reported that so far, about 2,000 passengers have been unable to board their scheduled flights.

They are transferred to a number of hotels including The Emerald, Ambassador and Amari Hotels.

While firstclass and business class passengers' extra expenses are fully covered, the airline has sought help from Tourism Authority of Thailand's Bt10 million emergency fund to cover the expenses of economy class passengers.
