Sumitomo is one of the world's largest import and export firms and has many subsidiaries and associated companies in industries such as metal products, finance, transportation and infrastructure.
The Japanese giant also has successful industrial estates in Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam. With its network and expertise, the marketing collaboration should benefit Amata in attracting more Japanese investment to Thailand.
The agreement will help to promote Amata industrial land for sale, particularly during the world economic crisis and political uncertainty in Thailand.
Sumitomo should be able to contribute about 20 per cent of Amata's land-sales target.
