Thaksin will not appeal Ratchadapisek ruling

Convicted ex-Thai PM Thaksin Shinawatra will not appeal court ruling on Ratchadapisek land scandal which sentenced him to two years in jail, his lawyer said Tuesday.

Thaksin who is on the run from the imprisonment in Thailand has until Thursday to appeal against the jail term issued by Supreme Court's Criminal Division for Political Office Holders in his absentia.

Kamnuan said the former PM would explain his reasons for not appealing directly to his supporters, though he could not say when that would happen.

However, Jatuporn Promphan, cohost of the "Truth Today" TV show, said Thaksin might tell all during the "Mobile Truth Today" programme scheduled to be held in the Supachalasai National Stadium on December 14.

Thaksin is currently staying in Dubai after fleeing Thailand in August as corruption cases initiated by the military junta that overthrew him mounted up in the courts.

He had been living in Britain, but London this month revoked his visa, leaving the multi-millionaire hunting around for a new home.
