46 CDM projects approved

A total of 46 clean energy projects under the clean development mechanism (CDM) have been approved by Thailand, which should cut greenhouse gas by 3.2 million tonnes, according to the Energy Ministry.



 Most of them involved in power generating.

 Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, PTT and Bangchak are assigned to study how to meet the government's policy to reduce the greenhouse gas by 15-20 per cent. Energy Minister Wannarat Charn-nukul said while Bangchak is replacing all light bulbs with supra-energy-saving bulbs, PTT in cooperation with the Mineral Fuels Department in employing the carbon capture sequestration technology, to suppress greehouse gas underground. The Australian government will support the academic assistance.
