Free taxi for mourners

Free taxi rides will be available for anyone heading to the HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana's royal cremation today.



About 250 taxis have joined in the free-ride project.

Under the project, Total Access Communication (DTAC) will pay for the fuel cost while drivers volunteer their services

Taxis participating in this project bear a sticker reading: "Do Good Every Day Project by DTAC".

The royal cremation will take place at Sanam Luang. The free taxis will be available at Hua Lamphong train station and the Skytrain system's National Stadium and Victory Monument stations. - The Nation

The dazzling complex of the Grand Palace and the Emerald Buddha Temple will be closed to the public till November 19.

During the period, there will be royal ceremonies for HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana's cremation. - The Nation

The Interior Ministry has called on people to observe a three-day mourning period, starting yesterday, for HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana, who passed away at the age of 84 on January 2.

From yesterday to November 16, national flags at government agencies and state enterprises are flying at half-mast.

Entrepreneurs nationwide are urged to curb entertainment activities during the period. -
