
IBM Thailand announced a set of new software under IBM Express Advantage program to help free small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from the headaches, limitations and costs of current information technology (IT) maintenance while also allowing them to achieve better productivity, efficiency and cut down cost. This simple yet affordable set of software are designed to support various SMEs' business requirements ranging from email, document management, back up & recovery to business continuity protection.This is meant to help SMEs avoid the hassle or expense of dealing with complex IT systems and instead allow them to spend more time on running their core businesses.
The new set of software consists of IBM Lotus Foundations Start and Tivoli FastBack. The details are as follows:
Lotus Foundation Start
IBM Lotus Foundations Start has everything an SME business needs to quickly set up a reliable IT infrastructure. The software uses the IBM Lotus Notes/Domino collaboration platform to enable employees to create, share and print Lotus Symphony documents, spreadsheets, presentation and work with email and calendar functions. Its automated design -self-configuring, self-healing, and self-managing daily systems operations -- eliminates the need for routine maintenance and helps to ensure that critical data is protected through an integrated disk backup technology.
Tivoli FastBack
IBM's new Tivoli FastBack software - the first new product resulting from IBM's recent acquisition of FilesX - provide SMEs with improved business continuity and comprehensive recovery of data and applications, as well as the ability to address compliance across customer data centers and remote offices. Part of IBM's Tivoli Storage Manager line, the new software expands IBM's existing enterprise data protection solutions with new capabilities to help protect data that resides outside managed servers, on remote networks.
